A New Partnership - FMS134

Once upon a time long ago Feedburner and I were so happy together.  I typed my posts and Feedburner delivered and all was right with the world.  But Feedburner lost its support team and was set adrift.....and unfortunately some of you no longer received my posts.  I have partnered with Feedblitz now and my posts are being sent out as before.  You probably received an email from Feedblitz notifying you of our new partnership.  If you aren't receiving my posts in your email and would like too you can subscribe using the Feedblitz subscription box on the right side of my blog. Otherwise I am happy to report that Stampin' Seasons is back to its regularly scheduled programming ......... posts!

Rolling Along....FMS133, SUO95

Sketch challenges are my favorite  - I love getting all of the pieces to work together.  Working in my craft room using Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry and Cindy's sketch definitely made me happy this week.

I see Miss Emma is rocking those colors as well - in her own way of course. Sometimes all you need to be happy is a pickup truck, the breeze in your hair and a friend riding shotgun........

Cindy designed a sweet sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Hope you join us!

SUO Challenge 95 is to use a flower or two or three!  I am definitely ready for flowers!

The Three Minute Egg........

\

I was rushing out the door yesterday to deliver Easter goodies when I realized I was one card short.  I ran upstairs to my craft room with every intention of grabbing a flowery card from my stash and putting a Happy Easter tag over the sentiment. Then I noticed the Watercolor Wonder note cards sitting on the edge of my desk.  I flipped this one vertically and the oval became an egg!  The chevron stripes from this past Paper Pumpkin kit quickly made the egg "Eastery!" The sentiment and the embellishment were added and I was done in under three minutes - truly amazing - and never ever happens in my world!  I even had time to snap a picture with my iPad before I ran back out to the car.  So now I am off again to an Easter dinner with the family.  Someone I know had a great time hunting eggs this morning!  Happy Easter everyone!

Don't forget to play along with us at Pals Paper Arts this week!  We are celebrating 200 posts and you could win all 20 of the Design Team's cards!

Celebrating 200! PPA200

Pals Paper Arts is celebrating its 200th post today - definitely a number worth celebrating! Our entire team of 20 designers have joined together to create monochromatic cards to showcase Stampin' Up's beautiful colors!  I followed this week's sketch and used Pistachio Pudding, Summer Silhouettes and Label Love to create a sweet baby card.  If you join in the fun and link up your card to the gallery you will have a chance to win all 20 of the DT cards this week. Check out the details at PPA!

I joined the Pals Paper Arts Design Team way back in August 2010 with Challenge #56.  Thought you might like to see the very first card I posted (using the retired set Just Believe) as a Design Team Member!

It's been a great adventure and I have met so many wonderful crafters along the way.  I am grateful to all of you for your comments, e-mails and support..........looking forward to the next 200 posts!

Hope you join us this week at PPA!

Signs of Spring!

It was a beautiful Palm Sunday here in the Northeast - actually warm enough to have brunch on the porch! I gladly put away the boots and the heavy winter jackets but am keeping the turtlenecks and fleece jackets handy just in case! I also assembled Emma's Easter basket and tucked this card inside. That Watercolor Wonder paper is perfect for an Easter egg! I hope Emma likes these little bunnies from Ears to You better than that big bunny on the porch....she doesn't seem too sure about that guy!

Easter Colors - FMS 131

One tiny drop of Strawberry Slush ink lifted from the cover of the ink pad was enough to color my white embossing paste a lovely shade of pink - the perfect garden wall for my spring flowers!  And my plan for this final week leading into Easter is to focus on the colors of spring found in the early flower buds, baby bunnies, fuzzy chicks and new nests of eggs.  I will try very hard to ignore all of those wonderful colors also found in jelly beans, chocolate bunnies, yellow peeps and those fabulous wonderful speckled malted milk eggs...............

USA

54 people stood together in a Federal courtroom recently and took the oath to become citizens of the United States.  The courtroom was crowded with families from many countries. Our family was there to support my son's girlfriend as she took part in this life changing event.  A soloist opened the program with America the Beautiful before the oath was administered. Then the judge delivered a heartfelt speech welcoming the new citizens and presented each one with their papers and a flag.  As everyone returned to their seats the soloist returned to sing God Bless America. About three lines into the song an amazing thing happened......the audience began to sing along.  By the end of the song my daughter and I were both crying as we listened to voices from all over the world join together to celebrate America.

Meanwhile Miss Emma was doing a little celebrating of her own with Auntie Ria's flag!  This scrapbook page was made for one of my Creative Crew projects on Splitcoast.

We celebrated with a luncheon afterwards - that of course included gifts and a hand made card!

What's In A Name? PPA198

I used the colors from Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge this week (Pool Party, Old Olive, Summer Starfruit) to make a birthday card for my mom.  She will be 89 and I still call her Mom.  My kids called her Gram from the start. At 18 months Emma has been saying Momma and Daddy for a while but my husband and I have been waiting to see what she would call us.  The wait is over my friends......the results are in.........

The Back Story:  My husband picks up Emma in the morning and when he walks into my daughter's house he shouts "Hey who's ready to go?" and she comes running!  When she arrives at our house she runs into the kitchen, I pick her up, hug her and put her hand on my cheek and say "gramma". It seems I say that last syllable with a short u sound as in "up" and not an ahhhh sound.

She calls us Hey and Muh...............

Spring Flowers - FMS130

I start a card with a general idea in mind but it doesn't always end up that way. I was thinking lots of spring flowers here but ended up loving the look of a single embossed image on vellum from Happy Watercolor. Adhering vellum can be tricky so I hid some glue behind the ribbon and button. As I thought about how I would fasten the top of the vellum Miss Emma woke from her nap and came into my craft room. She began to rummage through my junk drawer.....you all have one of those right? Mine is full of odds and ends that I plan to sort out someday.  Emma loves to show me what she finds in there and the first thing she offered me yesterday was a small box of gold staples!  Problem solved!

I am hosting this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Hope you join us!
