Fusion: Easter Bunny

This is the last of my Easter cards for this year. I loved the funky sketch at Fusion this week so I started there with my design.  I may also have been a bit inspired by "Little Miss Peepular's" shirt too!  So many bunnies!

I have been sending Easter/Spring cards to Gram for the past week and a half.  Her nursing home is under lockdown due to a nasty stomach virus going around - no one in or out.  I still drop off her favorite snacks but I leave them in the main office instead of going up to the resident wing myself.  And as for Gram I hear she is happily munching her chips, cookies and drinking Coke every afternoon as usual......a stomach bug wouldn't dare come near her!

Hope you join us at Fusion!

Global Design Project has an Easter Theme this week.

Stamp Review Crew: Bubble Over

The Stamp Review Crew is featuring the Bubble Over stamp set today.  It is such a fun set with endless options for many occasions!  Bubbles and Fizz DSP coordinates with it perfectly.

We had a great day celebrating the Big Guy's - and his twin sister's -  70th birthday yesterday.  The clan gathered from far and wide for a birthday/St.Patrick's Day Dinner.

My daughter's friend designed these adorable table centerpieces......hollowed out cabbages were the vases for the flower arrangements!  So clever!

If you are on track you should have arrived here from my friend Anne Schach's blog.  Her work is always amazing!

Now you can head on to see what treats Yapha Mason has in store!

I used colors from the DSP - and from the Inspire.Create.Challenge.

Stamp Set: Bubble Over
Paper: Bubbles and Fizz DSP, Whisper White, Basic Gray

A Toucan of My Appreciation

When I taught third grade we learned about toucans when we studied the rainforest. The kids loved to write simple punny poems using the word toucan.  I gave an example or two like this:

What can scare a toucan?  BOO-can!

What can float a toucan?  A CANOE-can!

Who can write a pun about a toucan?  YOU-can!

If you have a punny toucan question and answer I would love to hear it!

I am delighted to be the guest designer at the Tic Tac Toe challenge this week!  I decided to go corner to corner and picked Puns - Accents - Metallics.  Check out the wonderful inspiration from the Tic Tac Toe Design Team and then pick your own line of design inspiration!

I based my layout on the sketch at Cas(e) this Sketch.

Thinking of Sketches.....FMS328

When it is my turn to draw up a sketch for a challenge at Freshly Made Sketches I use two very "scientific" techniques.  Sometimes I doodle with a pencil on a blank sheet of paper until a layout takes shape.  Sometimes I cut out shapes and actually move them around until a layout I like develops.  So to prepare for this week's sketch I sharpened my #2 yellow pencil and sat down at my desk.  And right there on the corner of my desk were six cards I had just made using the new Waterfront set.  The elements of this set work together beautifully to create countless outdoor scenes.  And those same elements gave me the basic design of my sketch this week! Maybe checking my card stash should be my third technique for developing a sketch!

I'd love to see how you interpret my sketch this week. Join us at Freshly Made Sketches!

Spring Snow.....FMS327

I am sure there must be a flower under all this snow just waiting to pop up as we speak - that's what inspired my card today!  I love a good snowstorm just like Miss Emma does....

And I don't even mind when I am housebound and the only thing moving in the neighborhood is a snowmachine....

But I draw the line when Mother Nature drops 18 inches of  heavy wet widowmaker snow and breaks my beautiful row of bushes along my sun porch!  She and I need to have a serious talk!

As you read this we are having a repeat of the storm we had last week.....heavy snow is falling and we will probably have 18-20 inches before it is over. I've been to the grocery store, have three new books and a brand new box of Stampin' Up! supplies arrived last night - I am ready!

My talented friend Jen Mitchell from nearby Massachusetts - who is definitely not happy about today's snowstorm - has a fun sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Join us and make her smile!

I am also linking to The Paper Players Spring Challenge - one can always hope it will be here soon!

Fusion: St. Paddy's Day

The Big Guy and his twin sister will be entering a new decade this St. Patrick's Day so we are having a dinner party to celebrate!  This card is for his sister - who is the total opposite of her big brother. She is little, chatty and loves a good party.  The Big Guy is not little and does not love a big party!  He is referring to this event as "my sister's birthday party"  and definitely prefers gatherings to be lakeside or mountainside!  But seeing all the cousins, nieces and nephews together does make him smile......

I took my inspiration from the photo and then flipped the sketch for my design!  Love to play at Fusion!

Stamp Sets:  Amazing You, Grown With Love
Ink: Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive
